Brad and Rachel moved to Uzbekistan in August of 2024. Brad currently works as a professor and enjoys investing in the students. Brad has his Ph.D in Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) from Purdue University. In addition to his ECE studies, Brad took courses in engineering education and taught classes on probabilistic methods as well as signals and systems. His research centered around the analysis of neuroimaging data acquired via MRI.
Rachel graduated with her Masters in Social Work from Indiana University in 2021. While in the States, she worked as a therapist in two middle schools and enjoyed coming alongside students in processing trauma, challenging anxiety, and building healthy relationships. She has been trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and believes in the power of relationships to aid in healing for the whole person.
Brad and Rachel are grateful for the opportunity to build relationships with and learn from the people of Uzbekistan. They connect with REI's vision to see "people of emerging nations filled with hope as their countries are developed and their lives transformed". They have one daughter, Jane, and are looking forward to welcoming their second daughter in September 2025.
