Hi friends, 

Over the past four years at Baylor University, the Lord has grown me in ways I never expected. As a senior Mechanical Engineering student, I’ve gained technical knowledge in the classroom, but even more than that, I’ve grown through serving others as a Resident Assistant, through Koinonia InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, or by walking alongside younger students in discipleship and leadership.

This summer, I have the opportunity to serve with Resource Exchange International (REI) in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The particular internship is with the Samarkand International University of Technology (SIUT) summer student internship program. I will accompany middle school and high school students to energy-producing sites across the country, including a hydroelectric dam, a solar farm, and potentially active oil fields. The SIUT students receive hands-on training in preparation for careers in the energy sector and I will have the privilege of joining them for part of this experience. REI’s mission is to “Build People to Build Nations,” and I truly believe that investing in students at this stage of their development can impact communities for generations.

While this is outside my comfort zone, I believe I am being called to go. I cannot do this alone. I need love, encouragement, and financial support to make this possible.
